What is the "Primary" section of my inbox?
Promotional and marketing messages have been moved to a new folder titled "Other." You should now only see what matters in the “Primary" section of your inbox in OnMail.
How does OnMail decide which messages reach the "Primary" section, and which are categorized as "Other"?
There are many factors and signals we look at when determining what's included in the Primary section of your inbox. For example, if you have a Gmail account connected to OnMail, we use the Gmail primary label for those messages. For other account types, we have our own algorithm in place. Of course, there is never a one-size-fits-all solution for methods like this – if you have any sort of feedback or issues, please be sure to contact us by submitting a request in the top-right corner of this page.
A message has been mis-categorized, how can I move it?
If a message has been marked incorrectly as "Primary" (or "other"), drag the message to the appropriate location. On our mobile app, you can tap (and hold), then tap the "…" where you'll be presented with an option for "Move to Split" and can choose the appropriate location. You can also open the message itself, tap "…", and then tap "Move to Split" from the details screen.
