Exporting your OnMail account data and/or transfer your custom domain

OnMail will be discontinuing services on July 31st, 2025. To ensure a smooth transition, we strongly recommend exporting your user data (and transferring any applicable domains) before July 31st, 2025. Important note: if you plan on transferring your domain (but still require temporary email access and storage for the associated account) you are welcome to import the domain account back into OnMail, and it will be accessible until July 31st. However, we strongly encourage securing (and setting up) an email hosting solution ASAP. Many hosting solutions also offer email hosting, such as GoDaddy, Google Workspace, and Hover.

Exporting your OnMail account data:

To export your OnMail account user data, please follow the instructions below for your corresponding access method (OnMail.com via desktop web browser, or OnMail mobile app on iOS and Android):

OnMail app (iOS/Android):

1. Open the OnMail app
2. Tap your user image/avatar in the bottom right corner
3. Tap Settings, then tap Security & Privacy
4. Tap Export My Data, then tap Continue to Export
5. Review and confirm the following screen, then tap Export My Data.

Desktop web browser (via onmail.com):

1. Login to Onmail.com on a desktop web browser
2. Tap your user image/avatar in the bottom right corner
3. Tap Settings, then tap the Account tab
4. Tap Export My Data
5. Review and confirm the following screen, then tap Export My Data.

The exported account data file will then be sent to you and can be downloaded.

Exporting custom domains:

If you have a custom domain that you'd like to export, please contact support and they will provide you with a unique authorization code. You can use this code to complete the transfer of the domain from OnMail to your new domain and/or email host. You can contact support here: mailsupport@edison.tech

(Optional) Reconnecting your custom domain into OnMail:

If you'd like to continue using OnMail's services with the domain/email address you've transferred from OnMail, you can temporarily relink the domain to OnMail after you've ported the domain to your new provider. We are providing this option to minimize any downtime or disruption while finding a new email hosting provider. Please note: OnMail's services will shutdown on 7/31, so please secure a new email hosting solution prior to ensure no interruption in service.
